Primary School

Personalised teaching is the basis of our pedagogical programme. An individual assessment of each student allows us to provide personalised teaching, taking into consideration the personality, individual abilities and differences of our students.

The primary school has an obligatory full day bilingual programme. This programme is developed as a dual language enriched education programme where spanish and english are articulated. The objective is that students cognitive capacitites are developed to their maximum. Interested parents may obtain the sylllabus from the school secretary's office.

Morning: Spanish Afternoon: English

There is a levelling course for new students and parents may ask for the programme syllabus from the school secretary.

SAN JOAQUIN SCHOOL IS A MEMBER OF THE ASSOCIATION OF BILINGUAL SCHOOLS (A.Co.Bi)

In the first year of the Primary School the reading and writing programmes in both languages are based on a psychogenesis approach.

Both boys and girls attend computer classes from the first year of Primary School and the programme is intimately connected to the topics of each class.

All students have physical education during the morning and sports during the afternoon. Students also have art and music classes in both languages.

The study plans of each subject are sent home to parents on a monthly basis and regular meetings are held to discuss specific objectives for each group.

We organise programmed outings on a monthly basis to museums, plays, musicals or we invite organized shows to our school. These outings are taken advantage off, not only for their cultural relevance but also for their social and recreational significance. Both the theatre and musical shows offer plays in English. Student's work in class with material specifically designed, before and after the outing to make the most of the experience.

Today it is important that students are prepared with resources and strategies so that they may confront any situations they may find themselves in. A second language in this respect is fundamental and even more so when we are talking about the English language.
